A special PIA plane arrived in Pakistan carrying students stranded in Wuhan

The Pakistani students were studying at various universities in the Chinese province of Hubei

A special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane arrived in Pakistan carrying students stranded in Wuhan.

According to sources, more than 250 Pakistani students stranded in China have returned home on a special PIA flight.


Sources said that PIA flight PK8872 reached Islamabad airport carrying students, who underwent a complete medical examination at Wuhan Airport and their coronavirus test report was also checked.

This was the first special flight to repatriate Pakistanis from China, according to a statement from the Pakistani embassy in Beijing and these Pakistani students were studying at various universities in the Chinese province of Hubei, including Wuhan.

The government was urged by the students and their parents to take steps to repatriate them. However, the government of Pakistan had decided not to repatriate the students immediately to ensure the care of the students and to prevent the spread of the virus.
