Aligarh Prominent biographer Dr. Yaseen Mazhar Siddiqui has passed away

KARACHI: Renowned researcher of Sira-e-Nabi in Pakistan and India Dr. Yaseen Mazhar Siddiqui has passed away at the age of 86 in India.

The well-known biographer passed away on Tuesday in Aligarh where his funeral prayers were offered after Isha. He is survived by a widow, two daughters, three sons and hundreds of his disciples.

He completed his PhD in 1975. In 1983, he became Reader Associate in the Department of Islamic Studies and in 1991, Professor. Yasin Mazhar Siddiqui benefited from great teachers like Maulana Rabi Hasni Nadvi, Maulana Syed Abul Hassan Ali Nadvi and Maulana Ishaq Sandelvi. He wrote on many topics but became known for his services in the field of biography. He published several books in Arabic, Urdu and English and about five hundred articles on other topics, especially the Sira of the Prophet, were published in various journals. As soon as the news of Dr. Sahib’s demise was received, a prayer meeting was organized at Regional Dawa Center, Sindh, Karachi.
