Decision to admit eunuchs in academic institutions on priority basis
To bring eunuchs into the national mainstream, the Punjab government has decided to give them special admission in educational institutions on priority basis, free books and special discounts in fees.
A report was tabled in the Punjab Assembly for giving admission to eunuchs in educational institutions on priority basis.
According to the report, eunuchs will be admitted in educational institutions under the Department of Higher Education Transgender Person Protection of Rights Act 2018.
The port said the department would also provide fee waivers and free textbooks to higher education institutions.
