Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board reveals award to blacklist publisher, textbook board has qualified blacklisted institutions for publication of textbooks.
According to details: The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board had blacklisted publishers earlier this year for violating the rules, and the publishers were blacklisted after imposing fines. According to sources, the blacklisted publishers have been included in tenders worth Rs 5 billion against the rules and have been declared eligible for pre-qualification tenders. Sources said that due to the influence of the board, the blacklisted institutions have been qualified for the book tenders, while the inquiry in anti-corruption Punjab has not been completed.
Even before the inquiry against the publishers and printing press was completed, they were included in tenders of huge value. However, these publishers had just been blacklisted by the Book Board for violating the rules. On the other hand, the officials of the Textbook Board have said that the inquiry against the publishers was started against the facts and the board did not face any financial loss due to the publishers. According to the board, a letter has been written to Anti-Corruption Punjab to end the inquiry and the record of the publishers in the custody of Anti-Corruption has also been sought back.
