Disclosure of Financial and Administrative Irregularities in UET
The Chief Minister’s inspection team revealed financial and administrative irregularities in the University of Engineering and Technology and recommended a special audit by the Auditor General of Pakistan.
According to sources, the Chief Minister’s inspection team has completed the inquiry report on the complaint of financial and administrative irregularities in the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and sent it to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar. The report confirmed these irregularities.
It has been recommended that a special audit of the financial affairs of UET for the last five years be conducted at the Port by the Auditor General of Pakistan, while a case against Dean Dr. Abdul Sattar Shakir on financial corruption has been recommended to be referred to the NAB.
According to the report, several administrative matters of the university have not been approved by the relevant forum, so approval should be sought from the Tenor Track System and the Administrative Affairs Syndicate from 2014 to 2017 and the Vice Chancellor in accordance with the law.
On the other hand, the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore has announced the schedule of Entry Test 2020 in engineering institutes across Punjab, according to which the final test will be held on June 13 and 14 in the centers allotted by the Virtual University. Students will be able to get entry test tokens from designated HBL branches till June 1.
It may be recalled that last year, illegal recruitment was revealed in Lahore University of Engineering and Technology. Sources said that illegal recruitment was done for three Grade 17 posts in three UET campuses.
