Admission in private medical colleges, Justice Ayesha A. Malik delivered the verdict
In the matter of admissions in private medical colleges, Justice Ayesha A. Malik of the Lahore High Court has issued a major interim order. The court fixed May 20 as the last date for admission of students in private medical colleges.

Justice Ayesha A. Malik issued an interim order on applications for admission in private medical colleges. The court order said that after May 20, no student will be admitted in private medical colleges, eligible students pay their fees before the deadline. Include all obligations to medical colleges.
Private medical colleges finalize admissions after collection of fees. The interim order further said that after collection of fees from medical colleges, UHS should compile a final list of admissions. The court rejected the miscellaneous application of Pakistan Medical Association to become a party.

The court heard in detail the separate lawyers on the various applications of the students to become parties. The court has adjourned the hearing till May 18 for further action on the petitions. In this case, the students have challenged the notification of UHS admission policy dated February 19, 2012.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court had directed the University of Health Sciences to re-compile the lists of private medical colleges in three days and upload the merit of private medical colleges on its website. Malik had issued an interim order on the applications of students of private medical colleges.
Counsel for the University of Health Sciences told the court that there were 3327 seats in private medical colleges and 2501 students were admitted on merit while students of 126 medical colleges were admitted against their will. Re-create the lists for admissions as per the court order and remove 717 MBBS and 178 BDS students from the list who did not show up on merit.
