The federal government has decided to change the rules for the appointment of a new chairman of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

According to sources, the minimum age limit for the new OGRA chairman has been raised from 57 to 61 years.

Sources said that the salary of the new chairman OGRA will be Rs 1.5 million and the chairman OGRA will be appointed on special professional pay scale.

Educational Qualification for Chairman OGRA is at least Master Degree and Experience 20 years, Chairman OGRA will be appointed for 4 years and only Pakistani citizens will be eligible for this post.

It may be recalled that the post of Chairman OGRA has been vacant since July 17, 2020. The Federal Government had earlier canceled the appointment of Chairman OGRA and now the process of appointment of Chairman OGRA has been resumed.
