Grant released for research on corona virus to 5 universities of Lahore
Grants released for research on corona virus released to five universities in Lahore, Higher Education Commission released research grant worth Rs. 15 crore, HEC approved 10 projects for research on corona virus.
According to sources, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had received 300 projects from 150 universities for research. HEC has finalized 10 out of 300 projects. The final approval of the projects has been given by the technical committee of HEC. Research Projects, a project from Comcast University has been approved, research projects on Corona virus from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Health Sciences and Lums have been approved.
The HEC has given one year to the universities to complete the research projects. The HEC has provided Rs. 15 million for one project. Universities to set up Bioactive Hospital project for Corona treatment and labs for virus prevention
It is to be noted that the second wave of Corona virus has intensified. In the last 24 hours, the killer virus has swallowed 6 more lives in the provincial capital Lahore. And 191 patients are being treated in private hospitals out of which 81 are in intensive care wards and 12 patients are on ventilator.
