Pakistani mangoes to be exported 40% less this season
Due to the corona virus, Pakistani mangoes will be exported 40% less this season.
Waheed Ahmed, Patron General of Pakistan Fruit Vegetable Exporters Association, says the current mango export season will be the most difficult.
According to the patron saint PFVA, Pakistani mangoes will be exported 40% less this season.
Waheed Ahmed said that the mango export target has been set at 80,000 tonnes this season, which will fetch $5 million.
The PFVA’s top patron says 130,000 tonnes of mangoes worth 90 million were exported last season, but demand for mangoes will remain low this year due to the corona virus.

He said the closure of tourism, hotel and shopping centers had reduced demand for mangoes, while airlines had increased fares to Europe and the Middle East by 200 per cent.
The Pakistan Fruit Vegetable Exporters Association has demanded that the government provide freight subsidy on mango exports this season due to the corona virus.
