Preparations are underway to increase the salaries of officers working on project posts:
Punjab is facing financial crisis on the one hand and on the other hand preparations are underway to increase the salaries of officers in project posts in provincial departments. The Punjab Finance Department yesterday convened a meeting headed by Chief Secretary Punjab.
According to sources, the meeting will also increase the salaries of officers working on project posts in all provincial departments, increase the salaries of officers working on MP One Scale and other project posts. School Education, Higher Education, Specialized Healthcare, Public Prosecution Department, Department of Environment, P&D Board, Board of Revenue and Department of Communications and Construction, Irrigation, Primary & Secondary Healthcare and Transport are also included.

According to sources, the meeting will approve the increase in the allowance of project staff posted in the Women Development and Population Welfare Department.

It should be noted that on December 31, 2019, the Buzdar government had increased the salaries of the officers working on the project posts up to 200% in the form of Initiative Allowance, 20,000 in the salaries of Scale 1 to 4 employees, 30,000 in the salaries of Scale 5 to 10 employees and Scale 11 to 15. The salary of the employee was increased by Rs 40,000. The new Initiative Allowance is being given to the officers and employees of the project unit approved by the P&D Board including project programs, policy sales, authorities and companies.

It may be recalled that the Punjab government withheld Rs 135 billion in development funds in the province in view of financial deficit due to Corona virus and lockdown. Unnecessary purchase of petrol and other daily expenses were also eliminated.
