Sindh High Court After 28 days of hearing, 62 missing persons were recovered

KARACHI: A bench of Sindh High Court comprising Justice Nazar Akbar and Justice Mubeen Lakho has recovered 62 missing persons during 28-day hearings.

The recovered persons had been missing for several months. The families of the recovered citizens have expressed happiness. The apex court also disposed of 162 petitions related to enforced disappearances in one month. Several DSPs and inspectors were also suspended for non-compliance with the OPEC.

The apex court also ordered departmental action against several police officers for misrepresentation and poor investigation, IG Sindh, Home Secretary, DIG East, DIG CTD and others for non-recovery of missing persons. Other senior police officers were also summoned.

A case has also been registered against Raja Umar Khattab, Counter Terrorism Department in-charge, for abducting Nadeem Patel, accused in the airport attack case. The court has ordered immediate recovery of other missing persons.
