The federal government has announced a six-day holiday on Eid-ul-Fitr

The Federal Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification of a six-day holiday on Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to the notification issued by the Interior Ministry, Eid-ul-Fitr holidays will be from Friday, May 22 to Thursday, May 27. All businesses, public places, markets will be closed during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays and only medical stores and essentials will be open.

On the other hand, the Punjab government has also decided in principle to give one week off on Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to sources, Punjab will have holidays from May 25 to May 31 while parks and public transport will be closed during the Eid holidays. A notification will be issued after approval by the Punjab Chief Minister.

On the other hand, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a meeting of the Central Route Hilal Committee will be held on May 23 in Karachi to observe the new moon of Shawwal.
