The opposition’s lead in the Senate is in jeopardy. In March 2021, 52 out of 104 senators in the Senate will retire.

According to sources, a total of 522 members of the Senate will retire in March 2021, which is likely to end the opposition’s majority, 34 of the opposition coalition and 14 of the ruling coalition, Sirajul Haq and Sitara. Ayaz will also retire, 12 senators from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, 11,111 from Sindh and Punjab, 4 from FATA and 2 from Islamabad.

The retired senators include 17 senators from Noon League and 7 from PPP, 7 senators from PTI and 4 senators from MQM will also retire, 33 from Balochistan Awami Party, JUI-F, National Party. And 2, 2 senators of PK Map will retire, one senator of Jamaat-e-Islami, ANP and BNP Mengal will retire.

According to sources, Agha Shah Zeb Durrani of PML-N, Kulsoom Parveen, Mir Kabir Shahi and Dr Ashok Kumar of National Party, Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini of BNP Mengal, Usman Kakar of PKMAP and Gul Bushra, JU from Balochistan. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of IF, Khalid Bizenjo of his father Manzoor Ahmed, Sarfraz Bugti and Independent Senator Yousuf Badini will also retire.
