The Punjab government’s claims remained unsubstantiated, with a sharp rise in the price of chicken meat

In Lahore, the capital of Punjab, profiteers took advantage of Eid to increase the price of chicken.

The government and the Poultry Association had agreed a day earlier that chicken would be sold at Rs 260 per kg, but vendors increased the price arbitrarily.

Shopkeepers are selling chicken meat at Rs 310 to Rs 360 per kg, which has upset the buyers.

Vendors say that if the government makes chicken cheaper, they will sell chicken meat cheaper.

On the other hand, the citizens say that no kind of checking is being done by the government.
