Torkhum and chaman Borders has Opened for Trade

The government has opened TorKhum and Chaman borders for bilateral trade as Afghanistan.

According to the Interior Ministry, the government has opened the TorKhum and Chaman borders to Afghanistan for bilateral trade and has also issued a formal notification in this regard. Home Ministry issues orders to DG FIA, IGFC Quetta and IGFC Peshawar

According to notification, trucks will be able to cross the border 6 days a week except Saturdays.The remaining 6 days will be able to cross the Pak-Afghan border under the SOP for trucks.


It is pertinent to mention that the transit trade with Afghanistan had demanded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speed up the movement of freight trucks parked on both sides of the Torkham border. Bilateral trade and transit trade, which are already non-existent, are being further affected by government measures.
