AIOU abolishes matric FA and BA group system

Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad AIOU has abolished the group system for Matric, FA, and BA programs. Students who are enrolled in the group system in these programs have been advised to complete their program by spring 2021. The university has issued an advertisement in this regard.

The new scheme is introduced in Fall 2019. Students who will not be able to complete their program by Spring 2021 will not be able to register in the next semester according to the previous group system. Such students will have to re-apply for admission and shall re-start their program according to the new scheme.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the university has announced that all passed courses of students enrolled in the group system shall be considered suspended if they do not complete their program by spring 2021. Hence if a student is unable to complete the program by spring 2021, he/she will have to study and pass all subjects again according to the new scheme introduced by the university. Associate degree in commerce students who are enrolled in the program before 2019 are advised to complete their programs by 2023. Associate degree in commerce students enrolled from Spring 2020 are advised to complete the program before 2024.
