Arthritis medicine also benefits heart patients

Perth: Australian experts have discovered that an arthritis drug “Colchi Sen” is also very beneficial to heart patients and they are protected from the severity of various diseases. The study was presented at a recent online conference of the European Society of Cardiology.

It should be noted that colchicine is an ancient medicine which was obtained from the saffron plant (Crocus) in its natural state and was used to treat pain and inflammation. Today, the same medicine is synthetically developed and is commonly used to treat joint pain in arthritis.

The study, which lasted more than five years, registered 5,552 volunteers, all of whom had some form of heart disease.

In light of this study, experts have suggested that a small amount of colchicine should be approved daily for people with heart and arterial disease, as it is a common and low-cost drug. And secondly, the side effects are very small.
