Bank accounts frozen, court orders de-freezing “
The anti-narcotics court sought details from the ANF lawyers in the case regarding the de-freezing of Rana Sanaullah’s salary account, other than the salary in the account.
Anti-Narcotics Court Judge Shakir Hassan heard the case. The court adjourned the hearing till February 25, seeking arguments from Rana Sanaullah’s lawyers in response to the narcotics at the next hearing. Rana Sanaullah took the position that his bank accounts were frozen. Anti-Narcotics has also frozen the salary account while the salary in this account comes as National Assembly. This is a government account and it has been frozen illegally.
According to Rana Sanaullah, the government salary account is not frozen anywhere, so the court should order de-freezing of the account. The ANF objected that money had come into Rana Sanaullah’s account in addition to the salary account. The court directed the ANF lawyers to submit a report regarding the amount going into the account. Further hearing in the court on February 25. The court will rule on the same day.
