The Education Department has abolished the requirement of School Leaving Certificate for enrolling students in new schools across the province. Students will be able to get admission even without School Leaving Certificate. Millions of students across Punjab will benefit from this decision.

According to the details, the school education department has abolished the requirement of school leaving certificate for enrolling students in schools across the province for admission in new schools. The requirement of School Leaving Certificate has been abolished on collection of additional fees by private schools. Students will also be able to get admission without a school leaving certificate. According to the school education department, the decision will benefit millions of students across Punjab.

Earlier in Lahore, the District Education Authority had banned admissions in schools without living certificate, according to which parents were required to present their child’s previous school certificate for admission. The orders applied to both government and private schools. Action was taken against the school heads for admitting a child without a living certificate. In this regard, the Education Authority said that the admission of children without a living certificate increases the chances of students failing.

On the other hand, the School Education Department has given permission for new admissions of children in government schools across Punjab. According to the school education department, children in class one to eight have already been promoted to the next grade without examination. The distribution of books to children and admission process will be completed by July 15.
