Educational institutions to be closed till 11 April

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has announced the closure of all educational institutions in some districts affected by Corona. He said that educational institutions in the federal capital Islamabad and ten districts of Punjab would remain closed till April 11.

The NCOC decided to close educational institutions in 10 districts of Punjab till April 11. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai said in his tweet that all educational institutions in the nine districts affected by Corona were closed till April 11, 2021, including Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Malakand, Swat, Nowshera, and Buner.

In a media briefing after the NCOC meeting, Shafqat Mahmood said that the meeting unanimously decided that the educational institutions in specific cities would remain closed till April 11. Other districts may be closed on the direction of the provincial government. Regarding matric and inter-board examinations, Shafqat Mehmood said that the examinations would be held as per the schedule announced by the provincial governments and boards.

An important meeting chaired by Shafqat Mahmood was held at the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) to review the situation in Corona. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Education and Health of the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and senior officials.
