During a decisive meeting at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki, Aneeq Ahmed, Pakistan’s minister of religious affairs, made the announcement.

The attention of Minister Aneeq Ahmed’s and Ambassador Al-Malki’s final talks was on completing the preparations to ensure that Hajj operations proceeded smoothly.

“Aneeq further conveyed that his ministry is gearing up to disclose a comprehensive Hajj training schedule with biometric facilities for the pilgrims next week,” reads a statement issued by Pakistan’s religious affairs ministry. The statement highlights a new feature: the Bio App will allow Pakistani Hajj travelers to complete their Saudi immigration biometrics from the comfort of their homes.

One of the five pillars of Islam is the yearly Hajj trip, which has a rich history dating back over 1,400 years. Every adult Muslim who has the means and the physical capacity is obliged to travel to the sacred Islamic location of Makkah at least once in their lifetime.

Hajj Training Schedule 2024

Pakistan’s pre-coronavirus Hajj quota was restored by Saudi Arabia last year, allowing 179,210 pilgrims to make the trip. Additionally, the maximum age of 65 to perform the Hajj has been lowered. About 81,000 pilgrims from Pakistan chose the government system in 2023; the remainder used for-profit travel agencies.

In December 2023, Pakistan declared the results of a lottery for the Hajj 2024, selecting more than 63,000 applicants for the upcoming journey under the official itinerary. The remainder will look for pilgrimage opportunities via independent tour companies.

Minister Aneeq Ahmed highlighted the significant Hajj preparations finished this year during his conversation with the Saudi envoy. He also emphasized that Pakistan has put in place special measures for the pilgrims’ convenience.

Pakistan was commended by Ambassador Al-Malki for being among the top three countries for the best arrangements and provision of Hajj services. He commended Minister Ahmed for providing excellent pilgrim amenities and acknowledged the admirable work of the Hajj mission and Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Ministry in attending to the needs of pilgrims.
