HEC Commonwealth UK Scholarship 2023 2024 for Mphil & PhD [Deadline, Merit List, Official Website]. The UK government’s Commonwealth scholarship programme is run by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), with a focus on goals for international development. Over 30,000 people have received funding from the CSC since 1960 so they can study in the UK and enhance their skills, knowledge, and networks in order to meet the challenges of international development.
There are 30 nominations available for PhD and 26 nominations available for Masters.

Applications can be submitted using the CSC site until October 17, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria for HEC Commonwealth UK Scholarship 2023 2024
In addition to the CSC requirements listed below, you must be eligible under HEC in order to apply for these scholarships:
- being a citizen of Pakistan or AJ&K and having a permanent address there.
- Dual citizens are not permitted.
- By the closing date of the HEC application portal, a candidate for a master’s scholarship must have earned a first-class degree in the applicable postgraduate field of study (16 years of undergraduate or master’s study).
- By the closing date of the HEC application portal, candidates for PhD scholarships must have earned a first-class degree in the necessary postgraduate qualification (17/18 years of Masters/MS/MPhil degree) in the relevant field of study.
- The candidate’s final/terminal degree cannot be in the second or third division. Candidates who are still expecting results may apply.
- All applicants must submit their HAT test results. The applicant’s HAT test result must be at least 60 out of 100.
- Candidates who took the HAT exam on or after January 1, 2022, may upload their test results to the HEC site for review and enter their scores when completing an online HEC application.
- Applications won’t be taken into consideration for further action if they don’t have a minimum HAT test score (60 out of 100).
- Visit https://etc.hec.gov.pk to register for the HAT test if you are one of the interested applicants who has not yet taken it. For the HAT test, ETC is now accepting applications.
- Merit will only be determined by HAT score. (HEC retains the ability to alter the merit standards)
For Ph.D. candidates only:
- NOT be enrolled in a Ph.D. programme or an MPhil that leads to a Ph.D. before September or October 2024 at an institution in the UK or in your country of residence.
- Give a supporting statement from a potential supervisor in the UK who represents at least one of the organizations listed on your application form.

HEC Commonwealth Scholarship Official Website to Apply Online Login 2023
Applications must be submitted online via the Commonwealth and HEC portals. HEC is unable to approve an applicant’s application if they do not submit online application forms on BOTH of the websites listed in Steps (1) and (2) below.

- Visit the HEC website to submit an online application: scholarships.hec.gov.pk/#/auth/login Please choose “Learning Opportunities Abroad” after registering and filling up your profile. Get the applicant to sign the application’s printed copy after it has been submitted. The deadline for HEC’s online application portal is October 17, 2023 at 4:00 PM Pakistan Time.

If you want to apply for a Commonwealth Scholarship, is there a fee?
No application fee is required for the Commonwealth Scholarship. The applicant, however, might have to cover the cost of the ETC-HAT exam.

For consideration towards nomination, candidates must score at least 60% on the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT).
Is IELTS required to be considered for a Commonwealth scholarship?
No. However, the candidate must meet the requirements of the selected university.
What is the maximum age for a Masters or PhD?
No age restriction applies.
Is it possible for an Afghani to apply for this scholarship?

No, the International GRE-General/Subject is not suitable for the purpose of awarding this scholarship.
