Important news about the marking of matric papers & results:
Despite the passage of one week in the education boards all over Punjab including Lahore, the marking of matriculation papers could not be started. Arrangements were completed in the marking centers but permission could not be obtained from the government.
According to the details, the marking of matriculation papers was to start from June 15. Arrangements have been completed but the boards could not get permission from the government to start marking. 27 centers have been set up in Lahore for marking. Teachers were supposed to take part in the papermarking process, but not marking the board papers has once again raised fears of delays in children’s results.
The Higher Education Department had announced to start the papers from June 15. The results of the students were to be released within 90 days of the marking of the papers. According to board sources, 275,000 candidates had appeared for the matriculation examination under the Lahore Board this year. According to Board Chairman Riaz Hashmi, the government has not given permission to check the papers. Marking of board papers will be started as soon as permission is given.

It may be mentioned that recently matters were settled between the Higher Education Department, Health Department and Home Department regarding the marking of matriculation examinations under which the marking of examinations under the management of Education Boards across Punjab including Lahore was to start from June 15. From the centers, only large halls and centers were to be selected.
For marking, small halls and centers will be removed from the list, cameras will be installed in large halls to monitor the checking process and Corona SOPs, while results will be released within 90 days after marking begins.
It may be recalled that the Lahore Board had stopped the marking of board papers due to the spread of Corona virus.
