India: Elderly Muslim going for prayers attacked by extremists, beard cut after violence
An elderly Muslim man was tortured last week in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district near the Indian capital, New Delhi, as he went to a mosque for prayers. The assailants dragged a Muslim named Abdul Samad out of an auto rickshaw and took him to a nearby forest hut where they chanted certain slogans and asked the elderly Muslim to do the same. Meanwhile, they punched Abdul Samad, beat him with a wooden stick and cut off his beard. The assailants accused him of being a Pakistani spy. Police have registered a case in this regard and arrested a convict Pravesh Gujjar
