India refuses to open Kartarpur corridor:

India refuses to open border crossing to Kartarpur Gurdwara, a Sikh religious site.

Pakistan had announced to open Kartarpur corridor on June 29 and India was also informed in this regard but now India has refused to open Kartarpur corridor.

Pakistan announces opening of Kartarpur corridor from June 29 Pakistan is preparing to open Kartarpur corridor just like places of worship are opening around the world. In this regard Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that Pakistan is preparing to open the Kartarpur Corridor in the same way that places of worship are being opened all over the world.

The Foreign Minister said that preparations were underway to open the Kartarpur Corridor on the anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

But now news has come from India that it is not in favor of opening the Kartarpur corridor on June 29. According to Indian media reports, the government has rejected Pakistan’s offer to open the Kartarpur corridor from June 29.

According to reports, Indian officials say that due to the corona virus, movement at the borders has been suspended due to security measures. Indian government sources said that any decision in this regard was taken in consultation with the health department officials and concerned agencies. It is not possible to open the corridor on notice as under the agreement, the details of Indian pilgrims are required to be given to Pakistan 7 days before the trip.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated the Kartarpur Corridor on November 9 last year but the movement of Sikh pilgrims on the Kartarpur Corridor was stopped to prevent the spread of the Corona virus epidemic.
