India seizes millions of corona vaccines for poor countries
According to the World News Agency, more than a third of the 28 million vaccines developed by AstraZeneca under India’s Serum Institute license were to be distributed to poor countries, but so far these vaccines have not been sent to deserving countries from India.
In this regard, UNICEF has revealed that India has received 10 million doses of the United Nations Global Vaccine Program “Kovacs” which is the highest number received by any country. The vaccines that India was supposed to provide to poor countries under the Kovacs program have so far been frozen due to delays in the export of vaccines, while poor countries are desperately waiting for vaccines. It should be noted that the Institute of Bioscience of India had developed the AstraZeneca vaccine, one third of which was to be sent to poor countries under the Kovacs program.
