NCOC meeting; Complete lockdown in Corona-affected areas postponed
ISLAMABAD / LAHORE: The National Command and Operations Center has postponed the decision of complete lockdown in the most affected areas of Corona.
A meeting of the NCOC was held under the chairmanship of Asad Omar in which the situation in Corona was discussed. The NCOC decided to tighten the implementation of Corona SOPs and monitor the ongoing measures for another two to three days. Decisions will be made by convening another meeting in the light of the monitoring results.
The meeting could not approve the proposal for complete lockdown in cities with more than 15% positive cases. The NCOC recommended the provinces to strictly implement the Corona SOPs and ensure implementation of the SOPs by the police. In addition, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Faisal Sultan while giving a media briefing said that the number of patients in intensive care in the country is increasing, more than 4200 patients are in critical condition, the health system is under pressure due to increasing cases of corona.
SOPs need to be implemented to deal with the third wave, people should continue to use masks. Faisal Sultan said that the spread of the epidemic has changed the lifestyle, vaccinators should not take precautionary measures.
