SED Permission to Release on Merit E-Transfer Orders of Teachers
The Punjab Government, School Education Department, issued a Notification on 23-01-2023 in relation to permission to release on Merit E-Transfer Orders of Teachers on their promotion, awaiting posting, and hardship grounds that were already in process and began with effect from 23rd December 2022 to 26th January 2023. Merit Based E-Transfer Orders of Teachers SED Permission Sought for Orders
It is submitted that in the Province of Punjab, the School Education Department has developed a “online e-Transfer System”. All promoted teachers are given merit-based postings under this policy.
On 14.12.2022, the schedule of “e-Transfer applications” (Annexure-A) was issued, under which promoted teachers, teachers awaiting posting, and teachers in need of assistance were given the opportunity to apply online on the School Information System (SIS) from 23.12.2022 to 02.01.2023. According to the notified e-Transfer policy, 2022 (Annexure-B), further procedures and steps, such as the preparation of merit lists and document verification, must be completed by 10.01.2023. The deadline for Review Committee decisions on appeals/objections is January 24, 2023, and posting/transfer orders for such categories of teachers are to be issued on merit on January 26, 2023.
Punjab School Education Department (SED) Official Notification Regarding Promotion of Teachers & Awaiting Posting Orders
After view committee decisions are updated in SIS on 23.01.2023, posting orders for 3599 promoted teachers to actualize their promotions, and 2393 teachers awaiting posting on hardship basis (widows, divorce, medical grounds, wedlock), are to be issued on 26.01.2023 purely on merit basis. It is pertinent that if the posting/transfer orders are withheld at such a late stage, the aggrieved are likely to raise a ruckus on legitimate grounds. Furthermore, the same teachers are expected to perform their duties in the upcoming elections after receiving posting orders from SIS. In light of the foregoing submissions, it is requested that the Government of the Punjab School Education Department be granted permission to issue e-transfer orders on January 26, 2023.
