Oxygen gas leaked from cylinders at an Indian hospital, killing 22 Corona patients

Nasik: Oxygen gas supply to Corona ward was affected due to leakage of oxygen cylinder in Zakir Hussain Hospital, India, as a result of which 22 patients died.

According to Indian media, 22 people were killed when oxygen supply to patients of Corona ward was affected due to leakage in oxygen gas storage room at Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik, a major city in Maharashtra state.

A statement issued by the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Spokesperson said that a high level committee has been constituted to probe the incident and a relief of Rs 500,000 each has been announced for the bereaved.Due to the low supply of oxygen gas, 11 patients on the first ventilator lost their lives, followed by 11 more patients who were taking oxygen from the cylinder. It should be noted that the number of new cases of Corona in India has reached close to 200,000 on a daily basis, after which the increase in the number of patients in hospitals and the number of deaths in Shamsan Ghat has created chaos and mischief.
