Details
The research program on children and Adversity (RSPCA) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to support research with specific attention. Muslim refugee population and other populations on topics like substance abuse, community support, and caregiver-child relationships. It will help measure psychological outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the Family Strengthening Interventions for refugees, a 10 module home visiting intervention focused on skill-building and psycho-education to reduce mental health disparities. The RSPCA is an applied research program dedicated to improving the evidence base on the epidemiology of mental health problems, family functioning, and intervention research to develop and test mental health services for children and families affected by multiple forms of adversity.

Position Summary


Candidates will support research with specific attention to disparities facing war_ affected Muslim refugee population. The fellow will provide data collection and analysis to the interventions’ effectiveness and contribute to the evidence base on the epidemiology of mental health problems and families functioning by publishing on studies.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree, preferably in Public Health, Implementation Science, Social Work, Developmental Psychology, Mental Health, or other related fields.
  • Strong experience with implementation science includes hybrid design, cluster randomized controlled trials, longitudinal studies, and quality improvement approaches to fidelity and supervision that relate to long-term sustainability and scalability.
  • Experience researching culturally diverse contexts. Proficiency in utilizing computer applications including Microsoft Office, STATA, R, MAXQDA, and other applicable qualitative and quantitative data analysis platforms.
  • Expect knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodology.
  • Knowledge of Community Based Participatory Research, Implementation Science, processes related to fidelity monitoring and supervision, and cost analysis.
  • Understanding of the application of technology
  • Publication record that demonstrates the candidate’s capabilities.
