All the students are promoted to next class without board exams and that is clear.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood has told the National Assembly that there is a lot of pressure from private schools to open educational institutions, but the decision will be taken at the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference on July 2.

Shafqat Mahmood said that all the children across the country have been passed and this decision was taken by the inter-provincial conference. There are some legal issues in its path which are being removed.

“We have not decided to open government schools. Inter-provincial education ministers are holding a conference on July 2 in which they will decide to open educational institutions,” he said.

Shafqat Mehmood said that there is a lot of pressure from private schools to open educational institutions, for us the health of children is the first priority, whatever we decide will be done very carefully.

He further said that wherever the name of Holy Prophet (PBUH) appears in the textbooks, Khatam-un-Nabiyyin will be written. The Education Minister said that they are working on how the examinations and professional entrance examinations will be conducted. The budget of the Higher Education Commission is more than last year and efforts will be made to increase it further.

Shafqat Mahmood said that universities all over the world have 2 staffs with one teacher while here there is a rate of 6 staffs with one teacher. The budget should be on research teaching methodology. We will try to give more budget but the universities also take internal accountability, work for quality improvement and faculty improvement instead of new universities in the current situation. “I urge everyone, including the opposition, to work together in the field of education,” he said.
