Punjab University has released the schedule for opening university for M.Phil and Ph.D scholars. Students will be barred from entering the university without face mask and gloves.

When Punjab University Will Open For Students

Punjab University has called for the schedule of M.Phil and Ph.D classes and examinations from the heads of all departments till tomorrow. According to a regulation issued by the university, students will be barred from entering the university without face masks and gloves, while each department has been directed to ensure the provision of sanitizers and handwashing. Registrar Punjab University Dr. Khalid Khan has issued the letter. Each department will be required to submit the data and names of M.Phil and Ph.D scholars’ classes to the RO office. The university will have only fifteen days of classes a month. University entry passes will be issued to students after submission of schedule by the departments. Students doing science work in laboratories will also be allowed to come to the university.

On the other hand, the decision to change the syllabus of BS Honors degrees in public and private universities, students will be taught a syllabus based on academic dialogue in the first semester, while students enrolling in professional degrees will also have the option to change the degree. The Higher Education Commission has decided to introduce a competency based curriculum. In consultation with a thousand stakeholders for curriculum development, the new curriculum will be introduced in affiliated colleges including universities across the country.

According to the HEC, the old curriculum does not provide students with the required skills and research methodologies required in the 21st century. According to the students, in addition to one major subject or double major subjects, flexibility will also be available for graduation in one major subject including one or two minors.

In the new curriculum, practical experience has been declared as a requirement for graduation. Internship will be compulsory for all students and additional skills such as internship, business development, etc. will also have to be selected. Partial support has been provided for the launch of HEC. The HEC World Bank is implementing this five-year program. The HEC’s Post Secondary Education Reform Unit will monitor teaching under this program.
