Section 144 Notification: Punjab Government’s Latest Decision

On orders from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case, Rangers men detained Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to the lawsuit, Khan, his wife, and other PTI leaders mediated a deal between his administration and a real estate magnate that cost the national exchequer £190 billion. At the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the arrest happened.

Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, was arrested, which sparked rallies by the party’s members and supporters against the current administration. To avoid any adverse events, the Punjabi government has implemented Section 144 throughout the province.

According to a statement released by the Punjabi government, police officers and citizens have been put in risk in the past when terrorist actions occurred during demonstrations and protests. Therefore, it is vital to enact Section 144 and forbid any sort of meetings, sit-ins, rallies, processions, protests, Jalsas, dharnas, or similar events throughout the Punjab province.

The notification further said that the order will go into effect right away and last for two days.
