The PM Laptop scheme’s online registration gateway is now available. Students attending HEC-accredited universities and DAIs can apply directly through the platform. The deadline for online PM Laptop Programme registration is June 20, 2023.

Students who registered no earlier than the start date of their particular programme, as shown in the table below:

Students enrolled in HEC-accredited public universities/degree awarding institutes (excluding distance learning).
- Students enrolling in an 18-year Ph.D./MS/MPhil programme or a comparable programme.
- Students pursuing a 4-year or 5-year bachelor’s degree (morning and evening classes).
- Students enrolled in the MBA Programme (3.5, 2.5, and 1.5 years).
Strategy/Selection for Laptop Distribution Criteria
- The application is available online. Based on the criteria, the system will accept or reject the application.
- University focal persons will check the student’s record using an online focal person account, specifically the student’s name, CNIC, department, degree level, last test percentage/CGPA, and so on.
- The verification procedure is completely authorised by the University Focal Person.
- If a discrepancy is discovered in student data, it will be corrected by updating/editing student data obtained from the Institute or from the student themselves.
- Depending on the nature of the application, the focal person may disapprove, check, or correct the student within the time frame specified.
- Each Institute will get a certain number of computers based on eligibility and merit criteria.
- Once the HEC verification deadline has passed, an automatic procedure will run on the System to compile merit lists for each university.
- The HEC will next provide the provisional merit list to the institutes for cross-checking, and the institutes will cross-check to respond within 15 days.
- After removing any errors from the provisional merit list, HEC will distribute the final merit list to the Institutes.
- Every Institute must post the final merit list on their notice board, website, or social media page, along with a distribution date.
Criteria for Laptop Distribution
The following distribution criteria have been established:
- Laptops will be allocated only on the basis of excellence in each degree programme (PhD, MS/M.Phil, and 16 years of schooling).
- The portion will be calculated based on university enrolment, as well as the laptop quota for each degree programme (i.e., University Quota, Campus Quota, Degree Programme Quota, Department Quota, and Yearly Distribution).
- Balochistan HEI’s quota has been established as per PM office guidelines, i.e., 14% (14,000 Laptops) would be distributed in Balochistan HEI’s. (Note: Students from approved universities in Balochistan will be admitted under this quota).
- The remaining 86,000 will be distributed among public sector HEIs based on enrollment preferences.
