Special Allowance Notification of Punjab Government Employees

The Government of Punjab has increased the salary of their employees at a reasonable level and has announced 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021 in Budget Speech. To Overwhelmed the financial issues of the provincial employees, Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar held a meeting in Lahore and approved a notification of 25% special allowance for the Government Officials of the Punjab. Furthermore, he said that the provincial government is mindful about the problems of employees, adding that some good news will be announcement for provincial employees in the next budget too. Contract employees against civil post in basic pay scale subject to the following that the allowance shall be

• Subject to the income tax
• Permissible during leave and entire period of LPR except during extra ordinary leaves
• Not be treated as a part of remunerations for the purpose of calculations of pension/gratuity and recovery of the house rent
• Not be admissible during their tenure of posting, deputation in federal/ other provincial government as well as deputation abroad
• Admissible to the employees on their repatriation from posting/ deputation at the rate and amount which would have been admissible to them they had not proceeded on deputation

According to this notification,

• Over 0.7 million Government officers of the province of Punjab from grade 1 to 19 will get this 25% special allowance instead of Disparity Reduction Allowance.
• This special allowance is on the initial of the Revised Pay Scales 2017
• The employees will get this allowance from 1^st June 2021
• The Contract employees are also eligible to get this allowance
• The employees who are getting relevant basic pay scales along with the following allowances will acquire this allowance:
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Conveyance Allowance (CA)
• Medical Allowance (MA)
• Adhoc Relief Allowances 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019

Note:

Employees who are getting 100% or more additional allowance and those who are getting lump-sum pay package will not be able to get this allowance
