ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of former Lieutenant Asim Bashir against the Court Martial.The Supreme Court heard a petition filed by a former army officer against Court Martial. The court rejected the appeal of former lieutenant Asim Bashir against the court martial.The Additional Attorney General said that the petitioner was sentenced to life imprisonment under Army Rules, all the evidence and facts were taken into account while sentencing.Petitioner’s lawyer said that my client does not become a court martial, my client was on leave when the girl was killed, our case should have gone to civil court. The court said that according to the Army Act, this case belongs to the Court Martial.Former Lieutenant Asim Bashir was posted in Bahawalpur Cantt and was convicted in 2011 of murdering his mother’s niece.
