: Anti-terrorism court sentences Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charia to death in Baldia factory tragedy case The anti-terrorism court heard the Baldia Factory tragedy case in which Rehman Bola, Zubair Charia, Rauf Siddiqui and other accused appeared. Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charia were sentenced to death while MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui was acquitted. The anti-terrorism court was scheduled to pronounce its verdict in the Baldia Factory tragedy case on September 17, but the court adjourned the hearing till September 22 without delivering its verdict
In the Baldia Factory tragedy case, the court had reserved its verdict on September 2 this month after the arguments of the parties were completed, while in February 2017, MQM leaders Rauf Siddiqui, Rehman Bhola, Zubair Charia and others were indicted. The statements of 400 eyewitnesses were recorded against the accused. It may be recalled that on September 11, 2012, 260 people were burnt to death in the Baldia factory fire case while the factory owners had blamed MQM for the fire.
