Turkey Diyanet Foundation Scholarship 2023 – Islamic Studies Scholarship for International Students

For the academic year 2023–2024, the Turkey Dayanit Foundation Scholarship Program is now accepting applications. Foreign nationals who wish to study in Turkey can apply for the Turkish Diyanet Foundation Scholarship Program, which is fully supported by the Diyanet Foundation. Grants are offered for Islamic theology undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees (basic Islamic studies, philosophy, and religious studies, Islamic history, and the arts).

The purpose of the Turkish Religion Foundation’s scholarship program is to support Islamic education in Muslim communities, to create cultural links between Turkey and related societies, and to exchange information about Islam and Islamic education. Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) is a non-profit group established by the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey to advance social services, education and culture in Turkey and abroad.

The organization provides funds for a number of initiatives, including mosque construction and maintenance, student grants, and the publication of books and magazines on Islamic studies. In addition, the foundation manages a variety of educational institutions that provide education in a variety of subjects, including Islamic studies, foreign languages, and vocational training. It aims to advance the understanding of Islam and its principles within the larger community while also promoting the growth and development of an informed, moral and productive Muslim community.

  • In this instance, their scholarship support is reduced by 30%.
  • Students who come from abroad will have their tuition and accommodation fees covered, along with their transportation costs upon initial arrival and when they return to their home countries after completing their program.

Turkish Diyanet Foundation Scholarship 2023 Eligibility Criteria

International students must meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply for this foundation scholarship program.

Bachelor’s Degree Applicants

  • not renounce or lose Turkish citizenship for any reason;
  • Not born before January 1, 2002.
  • Having no physical or mental condition that would prevent you from studying in Turkey.
  • Completing high school (Turkish equivalent of grade 12) with at least a good grade (70%) or be able to complete it by July 2023;
  • Having more than two years of continuous education after high school;
  • Has not been fined or found guilty while studying in his home country;
  • If their scholarship has not been terminated by the Foundation, applicants who were previously students of the Turkish Diyanet Foundation while enrolled in any level of study;
  • If you are currently a student in Turkey, you cannot apply.

Master and PhD Degree Applicants

Those who wish to apply for master’s or doctoral international theology scholarship programmes must:

  • Not being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey is a requirement that does not apply to graduates of the International Theology License Program.
  • These students must submit applications together with their international ID.)
  • Age restriction: Must not have turned 30 from the first day of the application year (be born after 01.01.1993) for graduate students.
  • not have turned 35 since January 1 of the year the application is submitted (be born after 01.01.1988)
  • For Ph.D. candidates not have had a break from their studies for a period of more than two years between receiving their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and being accepted into the postgraduate programme,
  • Possess:
  • A bachelor’s thesis (if the institution from which the applicant graduated offers a thesis program); For Master’s applicants

  • you have completed a course in theology, Islamic studies, or an equivalent course, or be able to do so by July 2023.
  • Studying in Turkey through any disciplinary sanctions or penalties.
  • Students with overseas degrees must have an internationally accepted language proficiency certificate, such as for
    • English: TOEFL, IELTS, CPE, CAE, iBT, and PTE
    • German: TestDaF, DSD II, TELC Deutsch and Goethe Institute
    • French: DELF and DALF
    • Italian: CELI
    • Spanish: DELE
    • Russian: TORFL
    • Arabic: ALPT
  • Foreign students who have graduated in Turkey or will be able to graduate by the end of July 2023 must obtain a score of at least 50 in the YDS/YKDL language exams, which are conducted by SYM.
  • Preferably, foreign students who have graduated in Turkey or will be able to graduate by the end of July 2023 must have scored at least 55 in the ALES exam, which is organized by SYM, And they have published an edition that is internationally recognized.
