Uniform rules for Jobs of employees in new Universities

Deciding to implement uniform rules in the new government universities of Punjab, the Department of Higher Education has introduced uniform rules in the new universities for the recruitment of gazetted and non-gazetted employees in the universities.

The Department of Higher Education is enforcing uniform laws for government universities in the province, including Lahore. The same law has been implemented for the appointment of Treasurer, Registrar and Controller of Examinations in the University. The Department of Higher Education has drafted uniform laws and sent them to the Vice Chancellors of thirteen universities.

Universities have been directed to pass the rules prepared by the higher education department from the syndicate on an emergency basis. The Vice-Chancellors have been directed to send a report to the department within seven days after the syndicate approves the new rules.

According to details, uniform laws have been implemented in Home Economics University Lahore, Fatima Jinnah Women’s University Rawalpindi, Women’s University Sialkot, Women’s University Faisalabad, Narowal University, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology Multan.

The same rules will apply to Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Technology Rahim Yar Khan and Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan, Women’s University Bahawalpur, Mianwali University and University of Chakwal. The department has directed the said universities to allocate budget in accordance with the new rules and seek approval from the syndicate.

The Department of Higher Education has sent the laws to the universities after the approval of the Law Department and the Finance Department. The department has directed the universities to seek guidance from the Universities Civil Servants Act, 1974 in case of any emergency.
