USAID 500 Scholarships for Flood affected Districts Near Multan, Lahore & Others

On Tuesday, the US government offered 500 additional scholarships to Pakistani university students from flood-affected areas to help them complete their degrees.

At an event for women scholars held at the Higher Education Commission in honor of International Women’s Day, US Ambassador Donald Bloom made the announcement (HEC). The United States has provided scholarships to deserving but financially challenged students to attend top Pakistani colleges through USAID. The US government, in conjunction with the Higher Education Commission, has awarded more than 6,000 scholarships through the Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program. As part of the US government’s support for women’s higher education, 60% of these scholarships are awarded to women.

“International Women’s Day serves as a day to pay tribute to the contributions our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts and daughters have made to society in the social, economic, cultural and political spheres. Accelerate gender equality and eliminate gender stereotypes, according to Ambassador Bloom. The US government’s support to Pakistan’s key sectors, especially the higher education sector, is commendable, HEC Chairman These scholarships have not only enabled many deserving students to get university education, lift themselves and their families out of poverty, but they have given Pakistan the necessary skills to make the country’s economy stronger, said Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed. Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan had experienced “catastrophic floods” that had left millions of people homeless and homeless. Scholarship recipient Jennifer Andalib spoke about the challenges she faced in pursuing a higher degree and how the scholarship changed her life. He emphasized that investing in education is the only way to bring about constructive social change and that strong, educated women are essential to Pakistan’s future success.
