Current IG of Islamabad Police 2023 is Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan

He works for the government of Pakistan, and since 1995, I’ve been interested about institution development, reform, and start-ups. In both peaceful and conflict-ridden circumstances, I have managed sizable professional teams in the public sector and worked in multi-ethnic and multi-cultural contexts in Pakistan, Kosovo, and Sudan.

Combating terrorism has been one of my key areas of attention, and I have collaborated with the Pakistan Police on several levels. I’ve recently participated in Pakistan’s national security policy creation and carried out multi-million dollar public sector initiatives.

I founded and expanded the Punjab Safe Cities Authority from 2015 to 2020, and in 2014–2015, I helped Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Authority undergo reform. In addition, I’ve written two books about privacy in Pakistan, changing police cultures, and secure cities.
