Deputy Director (Engineer) is the only post with three alternative routes. The ad prints the experience next to each degree: 7 years with BSc (Civil), 4 years with MSc (Civil), 2 years with PhD (Civil). Assistant Director (Engineer) lists two bullets (MSc / MS in the relevant subject, and BS / BSc Civil Engineering with 1st class); the NJP page lists the same two lines, so read it before applying.
Age Limit: What the Ad Prints and What NJP Shows
The Urdu table prints only a base age. Term 4 of the ad adds that, as per federal government instructions, candidates from Balochistan get an extra 5 years on top of the usual 5 years general relaxation. The National Job Portal turns this into a maximum age for each post. These are the NJP figures on 28 October 2026:
- Count the age on the closing date (11 November 2026), not on the newspaper date.
- The three Assistant Director posts (Afforestation, Engineer, Accounts) show 40 on NJP, which is 35 + 5 general relaxation only. The Balochistan extra years are written on the other jobs but not on those three. If you are between 40 and 45, ask NJP support (info@njp.gov.pk) before you count on it.
- The Deputy Director page says 45 with the relaxations included; the ad itself prints 40 and says MSc candidates get 3 years and PhD candidates get 5 years of relaxation. Read the NJP page for your route.
How Selection Works: Walk-in Interview or Test?
- BPS-1 to BPS-16 (11 categories, 20 posts): term 2 of the ad says these posts are filled through a walk-in interview, with no written test or screening test; the interview details will be issued later.
- BPS-17 and BPS-18 (Assistant Directors and the Deputy Director): tests and interviews are held as per the relevant rules.
- No dates are printed. Watch your NJP account and the NHA website for the schedule, and keep your original documents ready.
- Test exemption is in the ad itself for BPS-1 to 16. That is different from the Railways ad, which prints only “walk-in interviews (BS-01 to BS-05)”; see our Pakistan Railways Quetta article.
Who Can Apply and Quotas
- Domicile: Balochistan only. NJP shows “Domicile: Balochistan” on every NHA job.
- Women: 2 seats are marked for women (1 Assistant Director (Engineer), 1 Office Assistant). The ad also says NHA is an equal-opportunity employer and encourages women and minorities to apply.
- Government employees: apply through proper channel (their department).
- Posting: anywhere in Pakistan as per need, so be ready to move if you are selected.

Balochistan Quota News and What It Means
News sites (ProPakistani, 24 News, Daily Pakistan) reported on 27-28 October that the government approved 829 jobs under a Balochistan quota at Pakistan Railways (805 for Quetta Division and 24 for headquarters), with 10% for Baloch women and 5% for minorities, no written / screening test, and a minister’s statement that hiring should finish before 30 November 2026. That is the Railways drive. The NHA ad is a separate ad with its own 29 posts. Both use the same NJP “Balochistan Initiative” and share the 11 November closing date. What the Ad Does Not Tell You
- Salary. Only BPS grades are given. We do not quote figures.
- Where you will work. “Anywhere in Pakistan”; no city is named.
- Interview dates. “Details will be issued later.”
- Test syllabus for BPS-17 and 18 (the ad says “as per rules”).
- Women and minority percentages. Only two woman seats are marked.
