Eligibility conflict: the newspaper ad says “45% in FSc (Pre-Medical or equivalent)”, but Riphah’s official DVM page says 60% in SSC and 60% in HSSC. Plan for the stricter official figure and ask the admissions office in writing which one applies to this intake.

M.Phil and PhD Admissions at Riphah Veterinary College
| Level | Disciplines printed in the ad |
| M.Phil (2 years) | Theriogenology, Clinical Medicine & Surgery, Animal Nutrition, Microbiology, Poultry Science, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Parasitology, Pathology |
| PhD | Clinical Medicine & Surgery, Animal Nutrition, Parasitology, Microbiology |
Not published on Riphah’s website pages we could open: M.Phil and PhD eligibility, fee, seats and test details. The FVS programme list shows only DVM, LAD and AIT. Ask the admissions office for the written eligibility (degree, CGPA, test, interview, research proposal) and the fee before you apply.
Last Date: What Is and Is Not Published
The ad prints no last date. Riphah’s DVM page shows “Application: 2nd June 2025” as the start and an empty end date. A third-party listing (EduVision) shows 21 November 2026 for the PhD programmes, but that is not an official source. Check the portal and call the admissions office before you rely on any date. Riphah also lists the Fall campaign as June to September and a Medical campaign as July to January on its dates page.
PVMC Accreditation Check: What We Could Verify
A veterinary degree must be recognised by the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) so that graduates can register as veterinary practitioners. PVMC’s official “Accredited / Recognized Institutions” page (read 25 October 2026) lists “Royal College of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore” at entry 9, and the link on that entry points to Riphah’s Lahore website. It shows:
| PVMC entry 9 | Detail |
| DVM | Recognised from 08.10.2012 till date |
| M.Sc | Vet Patho-Biology and Animal Production, from 02.10.2014 |
| M.Phil and PhD | Microbiology, Pathology, Clinical Medicine & Surgery, Animal Reproduction / Theriogenology, from 26.04.2016 |
| Conditions | None stated (some other universities carry admission restrictions; this entry does not) |
Two things to ask Riphah: (1) PVMC prints the name “Royal College of Veterinary Sciences”, while the ad says “Riphah College of Veterinary Sciences”; ask for the PVMC approval letter in the current name. (2) The ad also lists M.Phil/PhD in Animal Nutrition, Parasitology, Poultry Science and Animal Breeding & Genetics, which are not in the PVMC row above. PVMC has warned that approval is checked per programme, not per university (ProPakistani, 6 October 2026). We did not independently check the HEC and AAVMC claims in the ad.
How to Apply Online: Step by Step
Riphah’s admissions process (official page): explore the programme, check eligibility and deadlines, submit the online application through the secure portal, attend any required interview or assessment, then receive the decision. The portal login page is public; the form itself needs your own account, so we show only the public page.

Ad vs Official Website: What Matches
| Claim in the ad | What we found |
| DVM 5 years | Matches (5 years, 10 semesters, 167 credit hours). |
| DVM eligibility 45% in FSc | Does not match. Riphah’s DVM page says 60% in SSC and HSSC, Pre-Medical. |
| LAD 2 years | Matches. Eligibility is 45% in SSC (science); the website shows the LAD admission as “Close”. |
| “Admissions open, limited seats” | DVM shows Open with 50 seats. No M.Phil/PhD seat numbers are published. |
| PVMC accredited | PVMC lists the college under the name “Royal College of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore”; four M.Phil/PhD disciplines are listed (see above). |
| HEC recognised; AAVMC provisional member | Not independently checked today. |
| Hostel, labs, pick and drop | Printed in the ad. Ask for hostel fee and transport routes in writing. |
DVM Career Scope in Pakistan
A DVM is the basic degree for veterinary practice, livestock health, poultry farming, dairy and animal-feed companies, research and teaching. Pakistan’s livestock and poultry sector is large, and the faculty says its aim is to serve exactly this sector.
- Government veterinary posts: a live example is the Punjab Livestock Department advertisement (PPSC Ad No. 11/2026): 40 BS-17 posts (Veterinary Officer, Semen Distribution Officer, Instructor) need a DVM from a recognised university and valid PVMC registration; 61 BS-18 posts also need PVMC registration. Applications close on 26 October 2026 (ProPakistani report). Always read the original PPSC ad.
- PVMC registration: PVMC warns that graduates of unapproved programmes may be unable to register and may be ineligible for government veterinary jobs. Check the programme, not just the university name.
- Private sector: poultry and dairy farms, feed and pharma companies, private clinics, and your own practice.
- Higher study: M.Phil and PhD in a PVMC-listed discipline for teaching, research and senior government posts.
- Diploma route (LAD): works as a livestock assistant with veterinary doctors, in field work or self-employment. It is not a veterinary doctor degree.
Karna / Nahi Karna: Do and Don’t
✅ Karna (Do)
- Ask the admissions office in writing for the last date, test date, and whether DVM needs 45% or 60%.
- Ask for the PVMC approval letter for the exact programme and discipline you want.
- Apply only through admissions.riphah.edu.pk; keep receipts and your application confirmation.
- Visit the Raiwind Campus (Saturday or Sunday) to see the labs, hostel and transport.
❌ Nahi karna (Don’t)
- Do not pay any agent or “direct admission” offer, or send fees to a personal account.
- Do not assume the ad’s 45% rule is final; the official page says 60%.
- Do not choose M.Phil/PhD in a discipline until PVMC status is confirmed in writing.
- Do not wait for a deadline that is not published: apply early, seats are limited.
