SPSC CCE 2026: What Changed in Advertisement 06/2026 (October 2026)
On 23 October 2026 the Sindh Public Service Commission issued Advertisement No. 06/2026. It continues and partly modifies the Consolidated Advertisement No. 04/2026 dated 19 August 2026, after the Sindh Provincial Cabinet decided on 20 October 2026 to change the terms. The Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is the main route to Grade-17 posts in Sindh, so this change matters to thousands of graduates.
| Item | Old rule (Ad 04/2026, 19-08-2026) | New rule (Ad 06/2026, 23-10-2026) |
| Upper age limit | 30 years, counted on 1 September 2026 | 33 years, counted on 11 November 2026 (for CCE-2026). For later CCEs it is counted on 1 September of that year. |
| Lower age limit | 21 years | 21 years (unchanged) |
| Attempts | Maximum 3 attempts (since CCE-2019) | 5 attempts for a period of three years; the old “three attempts” note is amended |
| Screening test pass mark | 40% (80 marks) | 33% (66 marks), with negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer |
| Last date (online) | 23 September 2026 | 11 November 2026 |
| Applicants who already applied | n/a | Need not apply again; applications stay valid and are processed under the revised terms |
Do not mix up the numbers: 0.25 is the negative marking per wrong MCQ. The pass mark is 33% = 66 marks.
Important Dates for CCE-2026
| Event | Date | Source |
| Ad 04/2026 published | 19 August 2026 | SPSC |
| Cabinet decision on the changes | 20 October 2026 | Ad 06/2026 |
| Ad 06/2026 published | 23 October 2026 | SPSC; Jang Karachi 25 Oct 2026 |
| Screening test (first date) | 24 October 2026: POSTPONED (public notice 22-10-2026) | SPSC public notice |
| New last date for online applications | 11 November 2026 | Ad 06/2026 |
| New screening-test date | Not announced. “The revised date, time and venue will be communicated at a later date.” | SPSC public notice |

Do not wait for the screening-test date. The application window closes on 11 November 2026 whatever the test date becomes.
Age Limit and Number of Attempts (Official Wording)
The notice says the upper age limit for CCE is relaxed to 33 years, “to be reckoned on 11-11-2026 for CCE-2026 being the extended closing date”, and on 1 September of the corresponding year for later CCEs. Attempts are increased to five (05) for a period of three (03) years. The lower age limit of 21 years remains unchanged.
Quick self-check: you must be at least 21 and not older than 33 on 11 November 2026. Check your CNIC date of birth against the notice before applying.

Screening Test Pass Marks: 33% (66 Marks) and 0.25 Negative Marking
- Passing score of the CCE screening test: 33% (66 marks).
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- The earlier qualifying criterion of 40% (80 marks) in Note-I under para 7 of Ad 04/2026 is substituted.
Because 66 marks equal 33%, the screening test is out of 200 marks (our calculation; the notice itself does not print the total). With 0.25 negative marking, guessing is risky: four wrong answers cancel one correct answer.
| Marks printed | Meaning |
| 33% = 66 marks | Pass mark (new) |
| 40% = 80 marks | Old pass mark (cancelled) |
| 0.25 | Marks deducted per wrong MCQ |
