Age calculator for govt jobs in Pakistan

Quick answer: Enter your date of birth and the last date of the job advertisement. Add the maximum age and relaxation from the ad. You will see your exact age in years, months and days, whether you are within the limit, and the latest birth date that still qualifies.

Check your age against the ad

Fill the four boxes. The result updates as you type.

Enter both dates to see the result.

Estimate only. The department decides eligibility from your documents. Presets fill the relaxation box for you; always confirm the number in your own advertisement. Your data never leaves your browser.

How the age calculator works

  1. Enter your date of birth exactly as printed on your matric certificate or CNIC.
  2. Enter the last date of the advertisement. Age is almost always counted on this day, not today.
  3. Type the maximum age and the relaxation from the ad. The effective limit is maximum age plus relaxation.
  4. Read the verdict and the latest birth date that still qualifies. If you are close to the limit, you can compare both counting modes.

The rule behind the numbers

Government departments compare the candidate's age on the closing date with the age limit in the recruitment rules. The tool follows the same two steps: it counts completed years, months and days, and it adds any relaxation to the maximum age.

Formula. Effective maximum age = advertised maximum age + relaxation. You qualify when your age on the last date is not above that figure. The earliest birth date that qualifies is the last date minus the effective maximum age (strict mode) or minus one year more plus one day (completed-years mode).

Worked examples

Example 1: eligible with relaxation. Born 15 March 1996. Last date 20 November 2026. Ad limit 30 years, general relaxation 5 years. Age on the last date: 30 years 8 months 5 days. Effective limit 35 years. Result: eligible with 4 years 3 months 25 days to spare.
Example 2: over the limit. Born 1 January 1990. Last date 15 December 2026. Ad limit 30, relaxation 5. Age: 36 years 11 months 14 days. Effective limit 35. Result: not eligible.
Example 3: the counting mode matters. Born 10 January 1996. Last date 30 November 2026. Ad limit 30, no relaxation. Age: 30 years 10 months 20 days. Strict mode: over the limit. Completed-years mode: 30 years, so within the limit. Read the wording of the ad, and ask the department if it is unclear.

Frequently asked questions

All answers, in full:

How do I calculate my age for a government job in Pakistan?
Enter your date of birth and the last date of the advertisement (not today). The calculator counts completed years, months and days up to that date and compares them with the maximum age plus any relaxation printed in the ad.
Is the age counted on the closing date or on the date I apply?
Almost every Pakistani job advertisement counts age as on the last date of receipt of applications. Some ads name another cut-off, for example 1 January or the date of the written test. Type that date into the "last date" box instead.
What is the general age relaxation for federal government jobs?
Federal advertisements commonly allow 5 years general relaxation and 10 years for persons with disabilities on posts in BPS-1 to 15, under the Establishment Division orders and the Initial Appointment to Civil Posts (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1993. Provinces, autonomous bodies and some posts (such as CSS) have their own rules, so always use the figure printed in your advertisement.
My age is 30 years 5 months and the limit is 30. Am I eligible?
It depends on how the advertisement counts. If it says "not more than 30 years", the strict reading makes you ineligible. If it says "30 years" and the department counts completed years, you may still qualify. Use the two counting modes in this tool and ask the department when the ad is unclear.
Does the relaxation add to the maximum age?
Yes. The effective maximum age is the ad limit plus the relaxation you are entitled to, for example 30 + 5 = 35 years. Only claim a relaxation you can prove with a certificate (disability card, service certificate, domicile where required).
Will this calculator tell me if I am definitely accepted?
No. It is an estimate based on the numbers you type. The department or commission decides eligibility from your documents. Check the advertisement, the recruitment rules and the official website before you apply.
Is my date of birth saved or sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on our servers.
