Quick answer: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) announced the CSS MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2027 result on 4 November 2026. By the serial numbers printed in the official lists, 42,684 candidates qualified, 4,283 did not qualify and 3 results are withheld. Qualified candidates must apply online for the CSS written exam between 10 and 25 November 2026, and the signed hard copy must reach FPSC before 4 December 2026.
Important: the official result is a roll-number list (no marks, no cut-off). Check it only on fpsc.gov.pk. The MPT was held on 10 October 2026, not 27 September: many pages still print the old date.

Official Numbers: Passed, Failed and Withheld
FPSC’s press note names no totals, so we counted from the last serial number printed in each official PDF (pass list 610 pages, fail list 62 pages, withheld list 1 page). Check the PDFs if you need an exact figure for a report.
| List (official PDF) | Candidates | Share of all listed |
| Qualified (passed MPT) – pass list PDF | 42,684 | 90.9% |
| Non-qualified (failed) – fail list PDF | 4,283 | 9.1% |
| Result withheld – withheld list PDF | 3 (roll nos. 021821, 046245, 053222) | less than 0.01% |
| Total listed | 46,970 | 100% |
How Does This Compare With MPT 2026?
For context, FPSC’s own CSS-2026 press release (31 August 2026) gave full MPT-2026 figures:
| MPT 2026 | MPT 2027 (listed in result) | |
| Applications received | 63,368 | Not published |
| Candidates appeared | 43,189 | Not published |
| Passed | 36,758 (85.1% of appeared; 20,625 male, 16,133 female) | 42,684 (90.9% of those listed) |
| Gender split | Published | Not published |
Read it carefully: the 2026 percentage is of candidates who appeared; the 2027 percentage is of candidates listed in the three result PDFs. FPSC has not yet published the 2027 appeared count, so do not treat 90.9% as an official pass rate. What the numbers do show: more people qualified than last year, so the written-exam applicant pool may be larger. For reference, only 476 of 17,351 (2.74%) passed the CSS-2026 written exam: qualifying the MPT is only the first gate.
How to Check the CSS MPT 2027 Result: Step by Step
FPSC’s own announcement says to open the website, go to the Result section and use your roll number. We opened the page and the PDFs ourselves on 4 November 2026.
Go to www.fpsc.gov.pk. A pop-up “Important Notices” lists “CSS 2027 – MCQ Based Preliminary Test (MPT) Result”. You can also open Results > CSS > MPT from the menu, or use the direct link fpsc.gov.pk/Results/3437.
Open “Press Note – CSS MCQ Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2027” (PDF). It carries the test date, the written-exam application window and the hard-copy deadline.
Click the first link for the qualified list, the second for the non-qualified list, the third for the withheld list. Each PDF shows serial number, roll number and name.
The qualified list is about 610 pages. Press Ctrl + F (on a phone, use the PDF viewer’s search or “Find in page”), type your 6-digit roll number exactly as on your admission certificate (for example 000101, with the leading zeros) and read the line. Search the other two lists too if you do not see it.
Take a screenshot of your line and save the press note PDF. You will need your roll number when you apply for the written exam.
Slow site? The FPSC site is busy on result day and we found that it can block repeated automated requests. Load the page normally in your browser, wait a minute and retry rather than refreshing again and again. Need the PDFs smaller or a clear photo for the next form? Use the Educativz Image Resizer and Background Remover; more on the Educativz Tools page.
Warning: the official result is published as roll-number lists. Some pages promise a “check by CNIC” box or an SMS service: FPSC did not announce either. Never type your CNIC, date of birth or fee details into a site that is not fpsc.gov.pk.
What to Do Now if You Passed: Written Exam Dates
The press note gives the exact window. Dates below are from the press note, with weekdays added by us.
| What | Date |
| MPT held | 10 October 2026 (Saturday) |
| MPT result announced | 4 November 2026 (Wednesday) |
| FPSC web notice and public notice in newspapers for the written exam | 8 November 2026 (Sunday) |
| Online application for CSS written exam 2027 opens | 10 November 2026 (Tuesday) |
| Online application closes | 25 November 2026 (Wednesday): 16 days |
| Signed hard copy + documents must reach FPSC | Before 4 December 2026 (Friday) |
| Written exam dates, fee, centres | Not yet announced: wait for the 8 November notice |
Your checklist before 10 November:
- Keep your MPT roll number, CNIC and the email/password of your FPSC online account ready.
- Collect the documents listed in para 27 of the online application form (degrees, domicile, CNIC, photographs and the rest on that list). We cannot list them: read the form and the 8 November notice.
- Scan documents early and make them small and clear with the free tools.
- Plan the courier: the hard copy must reach Islamabad before 4 December, not merely be posted.
- Government employees: ask your department about an NOC and the proper channel well before you apply.

Eligibility Reminders From the FPSC MPT Notice
Applying for the written exam does not remove the eligibility checks. From FPSC’s MPT 2027 public notice (2 August 2026):
- Education: at least a Bachelor’s degree (Second Division).
- Age: 21 to 30 years on the cut-off date, with a two-year relaxation for the categories named in Rule 6.
- Cut-off date: 31 December 2026 for age, qualification, domicile and all other criteria.
- Candidates are admitted provisionally and at their own risk; if found ineligible at any stage, candidature is cancelled even after appearing or qualifying.
- The exam is governed entirely by the CSS CE Rules, 2019.
Other relaxation rules are explained in our age relaxation guide for government jobs (check the CSS rules themselves for the final word).
Test Date: 10 October 2026, Not 27 September
FPSC first announced 27 September 2026 (Sunday). On 19 August 2026 a public notice (PDF) moved the MPT to 10 October 2026 (Saturday) “in view of the announcement of a protest on 27th September”. The 4 November press note confirms the test was held on 10 October. Any page or message still saying 27 September is out of date.
Pass Mark: What Is and Is Not Official
The FPSC press note does not print a pass mark or cut-off, individual marks or a merit list. Exam-preparation sources widely say the qualifying score is 33% (66 out of 200) and that MPT marks do not count towards final merit. We could not confirm the 66-mark figure in the press note, so treat it as reported, not official. What is official: you are either in the qualified list, the non-qualified list or the withheld list.
Not in the List? Withheld? Failed?
- Search all three lists before you worry: search by roll number, not name (names repeat).
- Withheld: only 3 roll numbers are listed. The press note does not explain why or give a date. Contact FPSC (UAN 051-111-000-248, fpsc@fpsc.gov.pk) and keep your admission certificate ready.
- Non-qualified: the notice says only qualified candidates may apply for the 2027 written exam. FPSC did not announce a recheck or appeal for MPT in this note: ask FPSC before sending any application.
- Wrong name or roll number: FPSC says it may correct errors or omissions at any time. Report mistakes in writing with your admission certificate.
Not Announced (Do Not Assume)
- Marks, cut-off and merit: not published.
- Number who applied and appeared in MPT 2027: not in the press note.
- Written exam start date, fee and centres: to come in the 8 November 2026 notice.
- Reason a result is withheld: not stated.
- Recheck or appeal rules for MPT: not stated in the press note.
Karna / Nahi Karna
Karna:
- Check fpsc.gov.pk only and search by roll number.
- Save the press note and a screenshot of your line.
- Read FPSC’s 8 November 2026 notice before you fill the written-exam form.
- Apply between 10 and 25 November: do not wait for the last day.
- Courier your signed hard copy early so it reaches FPSC before 4 December.
- Share this with every CSS aspirant you know.
Nahi karna:
- Do not trust “check by CNIC” or SMS offers: FPSC announced neither.
- Do not pay anyone for “guaranteed” written-exam seats or documents.
- Do not think the MPT score helps your final merit: it only qualifies you (as widely reported).
- Do not post the hard copy on the last day.
- Do not apply if you will be over 30 (plus any Rule 6 relaxation) or below Second Division Bachelor’s on 31 December 2026.
